Although the site of the nation's first airport, Paro still retains tradition by way of its architecture and farming. Representatives of ZoPa Adventure Travel will escort you to the hotel. Check in Paro hotel, some refreshment will be served, then visit the National museum "Ta-Dzong" used as the Watch Tower of the Paro Rinpung Dzong in the 17th century. It was converted into the National Museum in 1968. It is located on the top of a hill above the Paro Dzong overlooking Paro valley and Pachu. Visit Rinpung Dzong built in 1645 AD. This massive fortress is located in the Paro valley. Today, the Dzong houses the Administrative seat of the district of Paro and the monastic body. The central tower (Utse) of the Dzong is one of the fine examples of Bhutanese architect. Night halt at Tenzenling Resort at Paro. Day 2 : Thimphu SightseeingDrive to Thimphu. The drive towards Thimphu is around 2 hours drive and is 60 km from Paro. Thimphu takes you along the Paro Chu (Chu means water or river) down stream to the confluence with the Wang Chu, then turns upstream and travels along the Wang Chu to Thimphu. Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan. Check in Druk Hotel. Visit Folk heritage museum, to have closer experience of Bhutanese way of living. Visit National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist Manuscripts. Art & Craft Institute where the art of paintings and sculpturing is well preserved. Indigenous hospital, the herbal medicines are manufactured and provide medical treatment. After lunch, drive towards Thimphu valley view point, Mini Zoo, to see National Animal Takins. Over night at Thimphu, at Druk Hotel. Day 3 : Thimphu to WangdiVisit National Memorial Chorten built in memory of the third king of Bhutan. Visit Bhutanese paper factory. Depart for Wangdi; 3 hours leisurely drive over Dochula pass at 10,000ft and from the pass one can see the panoramic view of eastern Himalayan ranges. Descend to the fertile valley of Lobesa. Lunch at Wangdi. Later towards the evening, hike towards divine madman’s monastery. The hike is through paddy fields and some farmhouses and it will takes app. 20 minutes to hike up towards the temple. After the hike drive towards Kichu Resort for night halt. You will have enough time to explore Kyichu resort and it’s surrounding on your own. Some can take leisure walk; some can practice their yoga and meditate. Overnight at Kichu Resort, Wangdi. Day 4 : Wangdi/TrongsaLate morning, drive towards Trongsa. The drive takes approx.5hours and trail climbs through semi tropical vegetation over Pele la 11,000ft, Descend through the open meadows of yak herder’s settlement till Chendebji Chorten. Lunch at Chendebji restaurant. Continue your journey towards Trongsa. Over night at Yangkhil Resort at Trongsa. Afternoon stroll round in Trongsa town and visit Trongsa Dzong, one of the most impressive and masterpiece in architecture. Day 5 : Trongsa to BumthangMorning drive towards Bumthang over yongtong La passes 11,600ft. Enroute observe yathra-weaving center at Zungey. Drive another ½ hour to Jakar. Day 6 :Morning attend the festival till lunch and after lunch, visit Kurjey Lhakhang and Burning Lake. Day 7 : Bumthang to Phojikha.Drive towards Phojikha, the beautiful glacial valley. Night halt at Phojikha at Dewachen hotel. Day 8 : Morning: Phojikha to Wangdi.Short hike around the valley to witness the rare species, The Black Necked Cranes and visit the famous monastery called Gantey Gompa (Pemalingpa’s famous Pilgrimage). In the evening, drive towards Wangdi, Dragon Nest, overnight at Wangdi. Day 9 : Punakha SightseeingVisit Punakha Dzong. After lunch drive towards Paro via Thimphu. Over night at Paro at Tenzenling Resort. Day 10 : ParoMorning, drive till the road head to Ramthangkha. Start your hike to Taktsang (Tiger Nest). Refreshment at the cafeteria from where you can see the monastery hanging on the cliff. As per the Legend, Guru Rimpoche, flew from eastern Bhutan on a tigress bringing Buddhist teachings to Bhutan. This is one of the most venerated and sacred sights for the Buddhist pilgrimage around the world and local people. Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria. Walk down hill to the road head and visit Drukgyel Dzong, fortress of victory in 17th century. It has been destroyed by accidental fire in 1951 and now stands as ruin, which reminds of the ancient architecture. If you wish, they can fix the famous stone bath. Stone bath is very famous in Bhutan. We use medicinal hot stone to hit water in a wooden tub. The hot stone will be thrown at one side of the long wooden tub and when the water gets hot, you may soak yourself in the hot water. Good way of relaxing your muscles.
